I found myself floating in absolute darkness. No sense of up or down, left or right. I was not even sure I was still alive. There was nothing around me. I tried to remember what had happened last. There was the fight with the hydra, comets flew toward its head and then, pain. Sharp, burning pain that made me feel uneasy just remembering, and now, there was nothing. peering into the darkness left me with feelings of vertigo as it seemed to stretch forever onwards, and before I could stop, I was falling head first into the darkness. My stomach sank and churned. I felt as if I was hurtling at an impossible speed towards something, being pulled in by an all-consuming force. I had no idea what could pull me in so quickly, and the feeling of falling made me scared for my life. After what seemed like both an eternity and a split second of falling, this pinpoint of deep purple light emerged. The light seemed to grow into this churning maelstrom of cosmic energy, as if the stars that made up this galaxy of light were locked in a never-ending battle. The sheer magnitude of what I was looking at, seemed infinitely large, and impossibly far away. Before I could even comprehend what was going on, I was amidst the purple galaxy. Chaos was boundless in here. Grand displays of light emitted and then were quelled by the darkness, hurtling rocks exploded into tiny particles of dust, reformed and exploded once more. Demonic visages and nightmarish creatures of all sort seemed to make their homes in this never-ending Abyss. I felt so small, so insignificant, and so powerless, all I could think of is how much I wanted to curl into a ball and let everything fade away. But, it wasnât until I heard the laugh that I felt truly paralyzed by fear. A deep rumble that seemed to shake the entire Abyss around me started with an earsplitting sound, which enveloped me completely. A deep throaty laugh that was filled with malice and power shook me to my core. There was nothing I could do. The very sound melted my will away and I crumpled into a ball and cried. There was no escape, no solace, no reason to live. I was alone. Then, the laugh stopped and the voice said one word, so quietly, I was unsure if I heard it at all.
âSoon.â
Then the world faded to darkness once more.
I woke up, not sure of where I was. My body was extremely sore, hurting all over. My body was wrapped in several bandages made from leaves. I was also no longer wearing my clothes, which made me feel more than a little uncomfortable. Instead my body donned a loose hanging dress, if you could call it that, made of woven plant material that went down almost to my knees. I was lying in a makeshift bed, in one of the Kueyaâs thatch huts. At first I thought I was alone, and then a gentle snoring coming from the other side of the hut hit my ears.
